For the past ten years, Céline Moinet has been one of the most exceptional performing artists on her instrument. The young oboist’s concerts bring both audiences and critics alike to rapturous applause.
Céline Moinet is in demand as a soloist with all the major orchestras in the world. She has played at the Salzburg Easter Festival under Christoph Eschenbach, with the Staatskapelle Dresden, at the Pacific Music Festival under Fabio Luisi and with the New Japan Philharmonic Orchestra in Suntory Hall. She also regularly tours solo with the Dresden Kapellsolisten and the Kammerorchester Basel.
Céline Moinet was born in Lille, France in 1984 and completed her studies with highest honours at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique under the tutelage of David Walter and Maurice Bourgue. She continued her artistic training with the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester and the orchestra of the National Theater Mannheim. At just 23 years of age, Céline Moinet won the prestigious position of solo oboist at the Staatskapelle Dresden. Since then, she has performed with conductors such as Christian Thielemann, Zubin Mehta, Claudio Abbado and Andris Nelsons. She is also a regular guest of orchestras such as the Vienna Philharmonic and the London Symphony Orchestra.
Céline Moinet is signed with harmonia mundi as an exclusive artist. Her CDs, with works for solo oboe and chamber music with oboe and harp, have been praised by the critics and have achieved outstanding sales for the French, German and British record industries. As a result, Céline Moinet was invited by renowned TV Network Arte and Rolando Villazón to appear on the show “Stars of Tomorrow”.
Since 2013, Céline Moinet has had a chair at the Carl Maria von Weber College of Music and she conducts master courses in France, Germany and Japan.

First solo oboist at the SWR Sinfonieorchester Baden-Baden und Freiburg, since 1992. He studied at the Escola de Música de Piracicaba and at Unicamp. At the Hannover University of Music and Drama, he had classes with Ingo Goritzki and was a pupil of Humbert Lucarelli at the Hartt School of Music in Hartford. He won the Concert Artists Guild International New York Competition and received the third prize at the Munich International Competition.
As a soloist, Barella performs with orchestras such as the Munich Radio Orchestra and the Heilbronn Chamber Orchestra. He has toured the United States, Japan, Brazil and European countries. He was a member of jury in the 56th Munich International Competition. He has already given masterclasses in the USA, Japan, Taiwan, Costa Rica and Russia. He is professor at the UDK Berlin and a guest professor at the Cologne University of Music.
Jean-Louis Capezzali began his musical studies with the piano at the age of 9 years. Five years later he knows the oboe in the class of Gaston Longatte at the Conservatory of Versailles where he won the gold medal and the Prix d’Honneur. In 1979, at the age of twenty, get the qualification to the oboe and the same year was appointed First oboe soloist in the Orchestra of the “Concerts Lamoureux” in Paris.
In 1984 he became principal oboist Supersolista Philharmonic Orchestra of Radio-France. Also in 1982 he was awarded the Geneva International Competitions (82) and Prague (86).
After being an assistant to Maurice Bourgue at the Superior Conservatory of Paris for four years it happens as Assistant Professor in 1992.
Since 1998 he teaches at the Conservatoire Supérieur de Lyon where he is also head of the department of Woods.
In 2008 inaugurates a new class at the Conservatory of Lausanne.

Born in Paris in 1958, David Walter has pursued an original career: after obtaining First Prize in oboe and chamber music at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique de Paris (Paris Conservatoire), he quickly gained recognition outside of France by winning five international prizes one after the other in Ancona, Prague, Munich, Belgrade and Geneva. Despite this impressive record, he did not choose to pursue a solo career and has preferred to focus on chamber music and teaching, which he deems richer in human values
His chamber music activities include first and foremost playing with the Quintette Moragues, of which he is a founding member (1980) : together they have won the Grand Prize of the Nouvelle Académie du Disque and were nominated for the first Victoires de la Musique Classique. His other partners include S. Richter, C. Zacharias, M. Dalberto, P. Rogé, A. Planès, G. Nicolic, M.A. Nicolas, C.M. Le Guay, Yuki Nakajima, Nicolas Angelich, C. Désert, E. Strosser, P. Ayrton and the Sine Nomine, Endellion, Manfred and Parisii string quartets. He played as a soloist with the Simon Bolivar orchestra, the Stavanger orchestra Guildhall String Orchestra, The Sofia Soloists, l’Orchestre d’Auvergne, l’Orchestre de Chambre de Toulouse, The Lituanian Philharmonic, le Filarmonica et l’OSSDRE from Montevideo etc.
David Walter was only 29 years old when, owing to his enthusiasm and dedication to teaching, he was appointed the youngest-ever oboe and chamber music professor at the renowned Paris Conservatoire. He has also taught at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama from 1997 to 2010, and regularly gives numerous masterclasses all over the world.
In an attempt to enrich the relatively limited oboe repertoire, Mr. Walter has proved himself a tireless and authoritative transcriber : to date he has made more than 550 arrangements, and many of which are now well known. He also encourages new works by young composers such as Gilles Raynal , Gilles Silvestrini or Thierry Escaich, and is himself a composer (30 works to date).
David Walter’s experience of group performance has led him naturally to conduct orchestras and ensembles such as the Metropolitan Lisboa, the Orchestre de Bretagne, the Orchestre d’Auvergne Orchestra, The Orchestre Royal de Wallonie or the l’Orchestre National de l’Ile de France.
David Friedemann Strunck
He began as solo oboist in the Oslo Philharmonic in 2004. He came to Oslo from a similar position in the Bochumer Syphoniker in Germany. He studied at the music academy in Detmold and Stuttgart with Gernot Schmalfuss and Ingo Gortizki. He has received soloist prizes from wind competitions in Mannheim and Bayreuth in 1999 and won first prize in the Mendelsohn-Bartholdy competition 2002 in Berlin with his ”Cambini Quintet”. He has been a soloist and chamber musician at the chamber music festivals in Bodø and the Festspillene in Bergen. He teaches at the Baratt-Due Music Institute.
Alexei Ogrintchouk is one of the most outstanding oboists performing today. A graduate of the Gnessin School of Music and the Paris Conservatoire, where he studied with Maurice Bourgue, Jacques Tys and Jean-Louis Capezzali, he combines astounding technique with virtuosity and lyricism.
Originally from Moscow, Alexei was already performing all over Russia, Europe and Japan from the age of 13. He is the winner of a number of international competitions including the prestigious CIEM International Competition in Geneva at the age of 19. He was also the winner of the European Juventus Prize in 1999, two ”Victoires de la Musique Classique” Prizes in France in 2002, the Triumph Prize in Russia in 2005 and Borletti Buitini Trust Award winner in 2007. He has been part of the prestigious Rising Stars and BBC New Generation Artists Programmes.
Since August 2005 Alexei Ogrintchouk has been first solo oboist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Amsterdam with Mariss Jansons. Until then he held the same post at the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra with Valery Gergiev – a position which he secured at the age of 20.

Alexei Ogrintchouk is named successor of Maurice Bourgue as oboe professor at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Geneve from September 2011. He also has been a visiting professor at the Royal Academy of Music in London since 2001, professor at the Musikene in San Sebastian since 2009 and at the Royal Conservatory in the Hague since 2010. He is giving a number of masterclasses such as Pablo Casals Chamber Music Academy in Prades, Mahler Academy in Ferrara, Cursos de Verano in Bilbao, Academie Musicale de Villecroze or Weimar International Master Class.
His first CD with the works by Schumann was released on Harmonia Mundi ”Nouveau musicians” Series to exceptional reviews. His discography includes the world premiere of the slow movement of Beethoven oboe concerto (Raptus classics), music by Britten (Record One), Skalkotas (Bis Records), Mozart Oboe Concerto with the Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra (PentaTone Classics). He also recently released Bach Oboe Concertos with the Swedish Chamber Orchestra (Bis Records).
Alex Klein (born 1964, Porto Alegre) is an oboist who began his musical studies in his native Brazil at the age of nine, and made his solo orchestral debut the following year. At the age of eleven he was invited to join the Camerata Antigua, one of Brazil’s foremost chamber ensembles. During his teenage years he toured and performed as a soloist, recitalist and as a member of several professional orchestras in Brazil. He then studied at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music with James Caldwell, earning a BM and an artist diploma in music performance.
After a year at Oberlin he won first prize in the first Lucarelli International Competition for Solo Oboe Players held in Carnegie Hall. He has received many awards worldwide including at the 1988 International Competition for Musical Performers Geneva International Music Competition in Geneva, Switzerland. There he was the first oboist to be awarded the first prize since Heinz Holliger 29 years earlier. From 1992 to 1994 he was Assistant Professor of Music, with specialty in oboe and chamber music at the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington, where he performed with the Soni Ventorum Wind Quintet.
He joined the Chicago Symphony Orchestra as principal oboe at age 30 in 1995. He has performed as soloist with the Chicago Symphony, Philadelphia Orchestra, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande and the Chicago Sinfonietta. He has recorded for Teldec, Boston Records, Newport Classic, Musical Heritage Society and Cedille Records.
Klein won the 2002 Grammy Award for Best Instrumental soloist with Orchestra for his recording of Richard Strauss’ Oboe Concerto with Daniel Barenboim and the Chicago Symphony.
Klein left the Chicago Symphony in July 2004 due to musician’s focal dystonia which had begun within two years of his assuming the first chair; during a tour of the Far East with the orchestra, he found his fingers would no longer allow him to play at his finest level throughout a symphony by Tchaikovsky, and asked to resign. He currently performs as soloist and conductor, often with leading orchestras. He served as a Professor of Oboe at his alma mater, the Oberlin Conservatory. He is also artistic Director of FEMUSC (Santa Catarina Music Festival, Brazil), participant in the Sunflower Music Festival in Topeka, Kansas, USA, and conductor of the Saint Barths Music Festival (in the French Antilles).
Klein plays on an F. Lorée Royal oboe made to his specifications by the Maison Lorée in Paris.
